Welcome

Welcome to my class! I hope you had an amazing summer and you are ready for a fun and exciting year in fifth grade. I look forward to getting to know you, hearing about all of the wonderful experiences you've had, and supporting you in reaching new goals this year!

I am thrilled to be starting my nineteenth year in teaching. I have had to opportunity to teach second thru sixth grade and I can honestly say that my heart belongs in fifth. I love the curriculum, the age of my students, and the humor they bring to class every day. It truly is a blessing, to be able to say that I love my job and actually mean it. I started my teaching career in Linden, where I taught fifth grade for five years. It was a wonderful community to be a part of, but coming to Escalon was the best choice I could have made. I have three sons who have all attended Escalon schools. Seeing the growth they have made, the friendships they have built, and the relationships they have formed with their teachers in this district, have made me feel proud to be on this team.

My educational background has taught me patience, compassion, and perseverance.  I attended CSUS, where I received my BA and started teaching as an intern. With the support of this district, I decided to go back to school, to earn my Master's Degree in Educational Administration, along with my Administrative Credential through the University of the Pacific in 2010. While this was hard work, I cannot begin to explain the importance of modeling hard work and dedication to my personal children and my students. My expectations are high and I live to encourage them to always take risks, to strive for their personal best, and to show the world that they can do it!
